Our lives are forever coloured by the perception and misperception of others, and for people like Bernie MacNamara those tints adopt a darker hue as he settles into a quiet residential neighbourhood, attempting to quell his troubles. In great personal turmoil he chances to strike up a friendship with a young girl named Andrea. After nurturing their relationship, the child goes missing. Bernie becomes the prime suspect in her disappearance and may also be involved in the disappearance of two other young boys, still reported missing. Detective Sergeant Vince Lombardo of the Vancouver Police Department leads the investigation which, far beyond the comfort zone of this seasoned veteran, explodes to reveal a conspiracy of astronomical proportions. It leads him towards making the most critical decision of his entire career. For Bernie, with events rapidly spiraling out of his control, he must now confront the inevitable consequences of his actions.
